Powells 60th anniversary celebrated

UDELL — Lawrence and Dorothy Powell will be celebrating 60 years of marriage on Saturday, Oct. 29 with an open house at 6 p.m. at the Unionville Baptist Church in Unionville, Iowa.

Lawrence Powell and Dorothy Elschlager were married Oct. 28, 1951 at the Udell Brethren Church by the Rev. W.R. Deeter.

They began their married life in Selma, Ala. where Lawrence was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. Following his release from active duty in 1953, they have lived and farmed in the Udell area.

They have three children: David and wife Sharon of rural Udell, Doug and wife Kim of Kansas City, Mo. and Charlotte of Lincoln, Neb., 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Their passions have been their family, farming and Christian ministry, especially the Gideons International and World Missions.

They would be honored by your attendance as they celebrate. They request no gifts.
