CORNING — Girl: Ellie Ann Amdor was born Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 to Eric and Lori Amdor of Corning.

She weighed sixpounds and 15 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Grandparents are Joe and Patti Fadiga of Centerville and Dale and Nancy Amdor of Corning.

Great-grandparents are Charles and Roberta Fadiga of Centerville and Ardath Pearson of Grinnell.

This week the Iowegian wants readers to think about President Barack Obama. Since Barack Obama was elected president, two significant things have occurred: The military repealed the "Dont' Ask, Don't Tell" policy allowing gays and lesbians to openly serve and just recently he publicly said he supports gay marriage.
