Centerville snow emergency ordinance in effect

Centerville Police Department has enacted the snow emergency ordinance

CENTERVILLE — CENTERVILLE — By order of Centerville Mayor Marsha Mitchell, the Centerville Police Department has enacted the snow emergency ordinance.  The ordinance will remain in effect until further notice by the police department.  During this time there will be no vehicle parking on any street within the city limits between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.  Vehicles found parked on the city streets during the above mentioned hours will be subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.

Mayor Mitchell asks that all citizens abide by the ordinance which will assist the street department in clearing the streets.  In the event of an emergency you are urged to contact 911 for assistance.  For power, telephone or cable outages citizens will need to contact their service provider directly.

The Daily Iowegian will publish an Editorial Question of the Week on the Opinion page. The Iowegian wants readers to think about the Internal Revenue Service scandal. Dick Polman in an editorial wrote "the IRS' targeting of small-fry conservative groups was not a conspiratorial socialist plot. It was knuckleheaded, ill-supervised bureaucratic ineptitude." So, the question of the week is, "Do you agree or disagree with Polman's analysis of the IRS scandal?"

A. Agree
B. Disagree
C. Not sure
