One injured following motorcycle vs semi accident on T-20

CINCINNATI —

A motorcycle driver was injured in a semi vs motorcycle crash just north of the Iowa/Missouri state line, south of Cincinnati Friday morning.

The accident report from the Iowa State Patrol states that Vernon M. Hutchinson was the driver of the 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Hutchinson, 35, Unionville, Mo., was listed as injured and transported to Mercy Medical Center in Centerville via Mercy Ambulance. Scanner communications indicated that Mercy One Air Ambulance was en route to the hospital.

According to the accident report, Hutchinson crossed the center line and collided with the rear tires of the semi. Hutchinson was wearing a helmet and the report states that charges are pending.

The door panel of the semi listed a logo for J&C Express from Cincinnati. The driver was listed as Timothy R. Furnald, 62, Seymour.

The accident occured at approximately 7:49 a.m. on Friday. The accident occurred near 31331 County Highway T20.

Assisting at the scene were the Iowa State Patrol, Appanoose County Sheriff, Cincinnati Fire, Southern Appanoose County First Responders and Mercy Ambulance.
