Deputies pursue stolen Durango at speeds of 100 mph

APPANOOSE COUNTY — UPDATE, 9:58 p.m.: Authorities are withholding the suspect's name pending the filing of formal charges. The Daily Iowegian will update as soon as the charges and identity of the suspect are announced.

ORIGINAL STORY: A pursuit that began in Appanoose County has reportedly come to an end in Unionville, Mo. Friday afternoon.

The vehicle was a red Dodge Durango that was reported stolen out of Illinois. The vehicle reportedly was involved in a $70 gas drive off at Konvenience Korner in Centerville. From there, an Appanoose County Sheriff's Office deputy was able to track down the vehicle. The Durango took off at speeds over 100 mph south bound on Highway 5.

According to scanner traffic, the driver of the Durango reportedly attempted to hit a Missouri State Trooper who was waiting on Highway 5 at the Missouri-Iowa state line with stop sticks.

Scanner traffic indicates that the vehicle crashed in Unionville, Mo. to bring the pursuit to an end.
