Big Reds advance to substate championship

KNOXVILLE —  

The Centerville Big Reds will meet the substate's No. 2 seed, Grinnell, in the Class 3-A Substate 6 championship game Monday. The winner advances to the state tournament.
The district 13 title was won by the Big Reds Friday night with a win over Chariton 52-44.
Grinnell led by only eight points at the half against Pella in District 11, but they would pull out a 58-44 victory in Valley, West Des Moines Friday night.
