We are pleased to announce the addition of three nurse practitioners to the Wayne County Hospital and Clinic System medical staff.
Karen Bozwell, MSN, ARNP
Originally from New York, Karen’s family’s move to the mid-west eventually brought her to Centerville. She completed her BSN degree as an Honors graduate at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, in 2006. She received her MSN in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. in 2011. She also completed Core Advanced Practice Nursing courses at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Mo. Karen has a special interest in mental health and rural health medicine. She also completed a clinical rotation specific to serving the socioeconomically disadvantaged population.
Karen is currently training at South Central Iowa Medical Clinic orienting on the electronic health record and clinic processes. Her future schedule will evolve going to the Seymour Medical Clinic on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday following completion of the clinic remodel project later this spring.
Karen and her husband, Dustin, make their home in Centerville.
Kimberly Riebe, MSN, ARNP
A Des Moines native, Kimberly has worked PRN for WCH for several years as part of the nursing department and managing hospital policy and procedure documentation.
She received her BSN in Nursing from Grand View University, Des Moines in 2005, and her MSN in Family Nurse Practitioner at Marymount University, Arlington, Va. in 2012. She also completed three years at Des Moines University in the Medical School program from 2006-2009. Her work experience includes providing primary care to adults and children, working in the emergency department at Iowa Health Systems, Des Moines, and working on the Cardiovascular Unit at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
She has devoted time to tutoring and teaching medical and nursing students in a variety of courses. Kim is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau.
Kim has completed her training and orientation at South Central Iowa Medical Clinic on the patient electronic health record and clinic processes. She is currently working Thursdays at the Lineville Medical Clinic, and Fridays and Saturdays at South Central Iowa Medical Clinic.
Kim and her husband, Blake, have twin sons.
Roberta Walburn, MSN, ARNP
Roberta brings extensive advanced nursing experience including providing primary care to all ages, emergency room coverage and obstetrical patient care. Roberta has worked at Iowa Methodist, Mercy and Broadlawns Medical Centers in Des Moines. For the last 13 years she has been with Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa, Decatur Medical Services in Leon.
Roberta received her Family Nurse Practitioner, MSN from Drake University in 1999, and her BSN from Grand View University, Des Moines in 1991. She completed her initial nurse training and received her diploma from the Iowa Luthern Hospital School of Nursing, Des Moines, in 1973. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Roberta will be completing her training and orientation on the patient electronic record system at South Central Iowa Medical Clinic for the next few weeks. Her future clinic schedule has her at the Lineville Medical Clinic Tuesdays – Fridays.
