Young Knoxville entrepreneurs have good day

KNOXVILLE — Two young Knoxville residents broke out their lemonade stand materials Tuesday and say they have made a good amount of money.

Kayden, age 7, and Kirya, 6, with a little help from their grandmother, Alex, opened the shop at Seventh and Douglas this morning.

"Our grandma got us some lemonade stuff for our birthday," Kayden said. They were impressed with the number of people who stopped by to purchase some of their $1 per cup pink and yellow lemonade, as well as homemade cookies.

"They've actually had quite a few," Alex said. They even had two visits from the Knoxville Police Department - not to shut them down, but to make purchases and donations. The children said they had fun today and met some good customers.

Today was the first day they tried the stand. They plan to take tomorrow off to ride the golf cart and check out the Nationals action. Chances are, they will reopen their stand later in the week.

The Daily Iowegian will publish an Editorial Question of the Week on the Opinion page. The Iowegian wants readers to think about the Internal Revenue Service scandal. Dick Polman in an editorial wrote "the IRS' targeting of small-fry conservative groups was not a conspiratorial socialist plot. It was knuckleheaded, ill-supervised bureaucratic ineptitude." So, the question of the week is, "Do you agree or disagree with Polman's analysis of the IRS scandal?"

A. Agree
B. Disagree
C. Not sure
