Marine weds high school sweetheart before deployment

Knoxville — Marion County Senior Judge Terry Wilson performed a civil ceremony, uniting in marriage Pella High School Class of 2011 sweethearts, Wesley Hoksbergen and Taylor Carter. The ceremony was performed on the Rotary Bandstand on the Marion County Courthouse lawn in Knoxville.

The couple has been engaged since December. Wesley is a Marine and must rejoin his unit in North Carolina on Sunday. He said he wanted to marry Taylor before he deployed to Afghanistan in the Spring.

The couple was surrounded by family and friends for the ceremony.

The Daily Iowegian will publish an Editorial Question of the Week on the Opinion page. The Iowegian wants readers to think about the Internal Revenue Service scandal. Dick Polman in an editorial wrote "the IRS' targeting of small-fry conservative groups was not a conspiratorial socialist plot. It was knuckleheaded, ill-supervised bureaucratic ineptitude." So, the question of the week is, "Do you agree or disagree with Polman's analysis of the IRS scandal?"

A. Agree
B. Disagree
C. Not sure
