RVTV in Knoxville today

Knoxville — WHO-HD's RVTV is expected to arrive in downtown Knoxville this morning. Beginning at 4 p.m. tonight, many activities are planned.

As reported in previous print editions of the Journal-Express, the WHO-HD sports team travels to different towns in its viewing area during the week leading up to the Iowa-Iowa State football game each year. This year, Knoxville and Pella were selected. They will park their recreational vehicle downtown and spend the night here, before moving on to Pella tomorrow.

WHO's Andy Fales told the Journal-Express that Knoxville was selected because there are good stories to tell here. The team will broadcast its sports reports at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. from Knoxville tonight.

Activities for tonight include a football challenge, a dunk tank, golf cart races, face painting, a water fight between the City and Rural fire departments, KHS marching band, cheerleaders and dancers; and a canned food drive for Helping Hands. You can vote on which team you think will win Saturday's game with a canned good donation.

Food will be available at the event.

Look for photos and coverage of tonight's festivities here and in the Sept. 7 print edition.
