CINCINNATI —
A Centerville man charged in a stabbing in Cincinnati last October has pleaded not guilty.
Nathan K. Menuis, 40, was charged with willful injury, a Class C felony, on Oct. 30 after the Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing in the 200 block of South LaSalle Street in Cincinnati.
Upon arrival officers found a 35-year-old man suffering from a severe laceration to his arm. The ensuing investigation revealed that the man had been in a physical altercation with Menuis, during which Menuis allegedly pulled a knife from his coat pocket and cut the man.
Menuis fled the area and was later found near the east edge of Cincinnati along Iowa Highway 5, where he voluntarily turned himself over to authorities.
Menuis is being held in Appanoose County Jail on $10,000 bond. His jury trial is scheduled for May 14.
The victim was treated at a Des Moines area hospital and released.
