Bussey and Pleasantville — Totals are in for last week's Coaches vs. Cancer events at Twin Cedars and Pleasantville. Between the two events, Marion County has donated another $10,000 to the American Cancer Society.

Cathy Streucker with the American Cancer Society reported that Pleasantville's total was nearly $5,000. Twin Cedars Athletic Director Justin Nolte reported that his school's event, which included participation from Melcher-Dallas, raised $5,200. The Twin Cedars-Melcher-Dallas event improved upon its 2012 total of $4,700.

"I'd like to thank anyone and everyone who helped put on this event," Nolte said. "You made it a success once again, and it would be impossible to do without you. Thank you again for helping a very worthy and important cause."
