Q: Dear Dr. Knott, my five-year-old cat can only eat kitten food. If I try to switch to adult or hairball, he vomits the food back up almost entirely intact and within 10 minutes of eating. Should I switch to "sensitive stomach" food? He has not lost any weight and is very active.
A: It sounds as though your cat is regurgitating. There are a variety of reasons this could be happening. First, I would take him to your veterinarian for a health check to make sure everything feels normal with his esophagus and throat area. Next, I may try a sensitive stomach type of food but only put out a few kibbles at a time to make sure he is not gorging himself. Since the kitten food stays down, I am wondering if he gets excited with a new type of food and overeats. I hope this helps!

Detour through Exline brings new faces
Congratulations to the members of the Exline Ramblers 4-H Club and all of the other participants in last week’s county fair. It was a shame the weather did not cooperate. The stifling humidity, high temperatures and storms were not conducive to outdoor activities.

Cincinnati native leaves for Afghanistan
The tremendous amounts of rain we received caused a lot of damage to many people’s homes, crops, properties, businesses, etc. Appanoose County had several bridges wash out and become unsafe for use resulting in many closed roads and detours for the area.
