CENTERVILLE —
Fleas and ticks are multiplying as you read this. A main concern from our clients is, “Should I worry about the safety of my pet’s flea/tick prevention?” Simple...no.
Parasite prevention products are safe when used according to label for the correct species and pet weight. Directions are printed for a reason. Do not ignore the warnings. Products that are available through your veterinarian are thoroughly researched and tested. Never use dog products on a cat or vice versa and always follow the pet weight guidelines. Most importantly, have your veterinary professional show you how to properly apply the product and how often. To much too often could be dangerous.
Next week: How effective are the spot-on products?
