Lynea Deney

CENTERVILLE — Lynea Deney, 63, of Centerville passed away January 23, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.

Lynea was born to Emil and Chiona (Herrell) Kumer on March 24, 1967 in Long Beach, Calif. She was a homemaker.  Lynea enjoyed sewing, crafts and time spent with family and friends.

Lynea is survived by five children; Douglas Weber (Sharon) of Davenport, Brent Weber (Carol) of Exline, Scott Weber (Valerie) of College Station, Texas, Melissa Vogel (Jason) of Houston, Texas and Bradley Weber (Roseann) of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Pam Smith of Fillmore, Calif. and Brenda Sedgewick (Mike) of Unionville, Mo.; two brothers, Lyle Kumer of Centerville and Brian Kumer (Cindy) of Lewistown, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Deney, on July 18, 2010 and her parents.

Her body was cremated and no services are planned at this time. Memorials may be given to the family which may be left at Thomas Funeral Home located at 23548 Highway 5, or mailed to P.O. Box 125, Centerville, Iowa 52544. Condolences may be left at www.thomas fh.com.

Since Barack Obama was elected president, two significant things have occurred: The military repealed the "Dont' Ask, Don't Tell" policy allowing gays and lesbians to openly serve and just recently he publicly said he supports gay marriage.
