"Time Machines" are familiar mythical devices sometimes used by fiction writers. They allow authors a cheap and easy way to transport their characters into the past or future ... always offering them some sort of valuable learning experience. Fortunately, for Iowa Democrats and independent voters, there exists a real and living "time machine"... easily accessible ... right across our border ... called "Illinois."
Instead of suffering through folks like me who constantly warn of Obama and the "new" Democratic Party's mission of destroying everything that is great about America ... take a day or two to visit the once great state of Illinois. View and learn, firsthand, what happens when unbelievable corruption is mated with a socialistic government. Travel roads desperately in need of repair ... talk to folks that Obama calls "rich" (those actually drawing a paycheck from a real job or business). Do not worry or be too embarrassed to just ask them, point-blank, how they feel about their state government. Believe me ... they will be more than happy to vent their deep anger ... even to a stranger!
Obama did his governance apprenticeship with the "Chicago Machine" and bases all decisions on that ideology. Today, Illinois is just a hair's breadth away from complete and utter bankruptcy and collapse. Using Obama's vernacular; they "invested" tax dollars into corrupt crony Capitalism and a social welfare system designed solely to keep their poor - poor and firmly entrenched and captive...inside the Welfare Plantation.
Last year, in an effort to salvage this nightmare, they raised state taxes by over 60 percent (Obama's ever-present solution) and made dramatic cuts in all areas ... including welfare payments. Predictably, businesses relocated outside the state or closed their doors, third generation welfare recipients moved on to greener pastures in more prosperous states, unemployment climbed higher and tax revenue dropped like a rock. A few weeks ago, Illinois politicians amusingly and stupidly declared their "shock and surprise" at such dismal results.
Before elections roll around this November, I strongly suggest to all those who still might believe that the Democratic Party ... with Obama at the helm (promoting class warfare) ... is the answer to our problems ... to take the short trip to the "time machine" located to our immediate east. Discover for yourselves what an oppressive regime like Obama's will bring to your own future. If that little adventure doesn't wake you up ... you are indeed a hopeless cause ... still believing in the cause of "hope."
