CENTERVILLE —
Dear Editor,
I was visiting my daughter, who lives just outside of Centerville, when driving through town I was stunned to see American flags flying as far as I could see. We drove through town and could not believe all of the flags that lined the streets.
My son-in-law bought a newspaper and I was reduced to tears and my heart was touched by the strong support for a fallen soldier, Sergeant Riddick.
Even though I do not live in Centerville, I can only loudly applaud the honors that the town and surrounding areas gave to this fallen hero. He certainly deserved the honors having served his country so willingly for so long.
My heart goes out to his family and a rose to the town of Centerville for remembering one of their own with much pomp and circumstance.
Sincerely,
Marlene Peace
