Valentine graduates as valedictorian
Samantha Valentine, daughter of Scott and Tracie Valentine of North English, graduated from English Valleys High School as valedictorian of her class with a 3.94 GPA. She was president of the senior class, student council and National Honor Society.
Valentine was awarded the John Phillip Sousa Band Award, vocal award, The Governor’s Scholar Recognition Award, the President’s Education Award, the American Bar Associaion Citizenship Award, the Bernie Saggau Award, the Old Gold Scholarship from the University of Iowa, the Principal’s Leadership Award, teh KWWl Best of Class of 2009 for English Valleys High School and Academic All State Awards for both basketball and softball. She also received a scholarship from the North English Firemen’s Assn., the George Wine Scholarship and the Roller Memorial Scholarship of Iowa.
Valentine also receives the first granddaughter award from her grandparents, Ron and Mitzi Valentine of Plano and Karen and David Vandemark of Centerville.
Valentine plans to attend the University of Iowa in the fall.
