PELLA — Tyler Morgan, freshman, exploring, graduate of Centerville High School is a member of the 2009-10 Central College Flying Pans Steel Band. This group is under the direction of Stan Dahl, assistant professor of music.
The band prepares for one major performance each semester. This semester’s theme is a groovy 70s mix of disco music. The Flying Pans performed in Douwstra Auditorium on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31 and Sunday, Nov. 1.
The Flying Pans performed classic 70s tunes such as “Stayin’ Alive,” “Macho Man,” “I Will Survive,” “Funkytown,” “Copacabana,” “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “The Hustle” and “YMCA” as well as others.
