DAVENPORT —
A former dean of an Iowa technical college has been sentenced 10 years in prison on a federal enticement charge.
The U.S. attorney's office says 55-year-old Terry Campie, of Iowa City, was sentenced on one count of attempted enticement of a minor to engage in illicit sexual activities on Friday in U.S. District Court in Davenport.
Campie, a former dean of ITT Tech campus in Cedar Rapids, was arrested in April 2010 trying to meet an investigator posing as a 14-year-old girl. Prosecutors say he drove to Clinton to meet the girl after sexually explicit online chats.
Campie pleaded guilty in March 2011.
