Jones, Wyman plan May 21 wedding

CENTERVILLE — Patrick and Andrea Wyman of Davenport, along with Steven and Deena Jones of Iowa City, formerly of Centerville, are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their children, Ashlee Nicole Wyman and Andrew Steven Jones.

Ashlee and Andrew will be married at Faith United Methodist Church, Centerville on May 21.

Ashlee graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School in Kaiserslautern, Germany. She is a recent graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Previously she received an AA degree in American Sign Language from Kirkwood Community College. She will be pursuing a career teaching  elementary special education.

Andrew graduated from Centerville High School and then from the University of Northern Iowa in 2010 with a degree in History and Political Science. He participated in the ROTC program at UNI and has been commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Reserve. He currently is employed as a Unit Administrator for the United States Army Reserve in Dubuque.

After a honeymoon trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Andrew and Ashlee will be living in Dubuque.

Since Barack Obama was elected president, two significant things have occurred: The military repealed the "Dont' Ask, Don't Tell" policy allowing gays and lesbians to openly serve and just recently he publicly said he supports gay marriage.
