CENTERVILLE —
Centerville FFA students attended the FFA District officer interviews in Chariton on Monday. Feb 4.
Hunter Moore earned a spot on the FFA officer ballot for District Sentinel. This election will be held on March 9. Moore's Iowa degree also was approved that night and will be awarded at the state convention in April. The Iowa Degree is the highest honor the State FFA Association can bestow on a student.
Katie Morris earned a gold and advanced to state with her beef proficiency application. The state proficiencies will be judged on Feb. 16 at which time we will learn if she will advance on to National Competition.
Elizebeth Gaskins, Centerville Ag Instructor and FFA advisor said, "No other student in my five years here has gone to the extreme amount of work to fill out one of these applications and she did a great job and has a good chance of advancing."
Maranda Rupalo's Iowa Degree application was sent back for some minor corrections and when done she will also be awarded her Iowa Degree in April.
Katie Bratz received a Silver on her FFA Chapter scrapbook.
"I am very proud of all of these kids for the effort they have put in on these projects. They each have learned so much and deserve recognition for their hardwork," Gaskins said.
