CENTERVILLE —
The Exline Ramblers met and hosted their annual soup “Appreciation” dinner on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. at the Exline City Hall.
The meeting was called to order by President, Skyler Lawson.
Lawson provided a recap of our activities that the Ramblers have accomplished for last year, some noted were the benches at the Appanoose County Fair, Adopt-A-Highway trash pickups, and the memory scrapbook for the family of Sgt. Master Travis Riddick.
The prayer was given by Dr. Jaren Tubaugh.
The Ramblers served the meal and then following the meal was the lighting ceremony for new members led by Lawson and alumni member, Shanielle Smith. The new members (including Clover kids) that were present and participated are as follows: Taylor Steele, Wyatt Tait, Logan Fogle, Blaire Wright, Lynsdey Winkel, Sydney Winkel, Arianna Litke, Zoey Litke, Miles Clawson, Lexy Hedgecox, Conager Logston, Logan Everett and Makenzey Fogle.
Here’s some upcoming calendar dates that were in the 4-H extension monthly newsletter to note:
Beef weigh is Dec. 15 from 9-11 a.m. for county fair and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for State Fair.
Beef carcass sign up as soon as possible.
The awards banquet will be Jan. 26 at Moravia Nazarene Church at 6 p.m.
Reminder to get enrollments in.
Contact the Extension Office for details on the Washington trip that is coming this summer – deadline is Dec. 15. Must be a 10th through 12th grader (4-H’er) and application is required.
The Ramblers then cleaned up and adjourned the meeting.
The next Exline Ramblers meeting will be on Sunday, Dec. 2 to go shopping at Wal-Mart followed by a party at the Faith United Methodist Church. Plans for the December meeting are to adopt a family for the holidays and purchase some food and gift items.
