M & M Pioneers 4-H Club meeting minutes

By Thad Hill, Reporter

The M & M Pioneers 4-H Club held their February meeting Sunday, Feb. 14 at the Extension Office. Before the meeting, members met at the Extension office at 4 p.m. to decorate Valentine’s cookies for the Continental at St. Joseph’s as our monthly service project. We delivered the cookies to the residents who enjoyed our visit.

We then went back to the Extension office. President Amanda McGill called the regular meeting to order at 5:08 p.m. We began the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Thirteen members were present for roll call. Melanie McGill read the secretary’s report and the treasurer’s report. Amanda talked about the Awards Banquet and told us that our gift basket went for $55. She then went over the 4-H newsletter and talked about weigh-ins and deadlines.

Katie Walker gave a presentation on polydactyl cats. These are cats with extra toes. They are sometimes called “mitten kittens” because their front paws look like they are wearing mittens. She brought one to show us. Braden Zotz gave a presentation on bow shooting sports. He brought his bow and explained the parts of the bow and how it worked.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:43 p.m.

Makenzie Richmond, Myriah Porter and Myriah’s mom, Bev, hosted this meeting. Our next meeting will be March 14 at 6 p.m.
