CENTERVILLE —
The Daily Iowegian will publish an Editorial Question of the Week on the Opinion page.
The Iowegian wants readers to think about President Barack Obama's recent assertion in a campaign speech about how government helps small businesses thrive and "you didn't build that."
Mitt Romney's campaign is running ads that suggest the president doesn't think entrepreneurs build their own businesses.
Obama later said he was referring to public programs like education and infrastructure that helped businesses be successful.
So, the question this week is, "Is the president right? Did education and infrastructure help businesses become successful?"
Go to the Daily Iowegian website, www.dailyiowegian.com, and scroll down the home page to POLL on the right hand side and cast your vote. Or call the Iowegian office at (641) 856-6336 or email the editor at iowegianeditor@mchsi.com to cast a vote.
Vote on the Question of the Week up until Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 12 p.m. The results will be published in the Thursday, Aug. 2 paper along with a new question.
Here are the results from the last poll question: "Will the drought of 2012 result in higher food prices before the end of the year"
A. Yes received 169 votes.
B. No received seven votes.
C. Not sure received two votes.
D. Don't care received three votes.
