Stay engaged and let’s get back to ‘faith, family and freedom’

CENTERVILLE — Dear Editor,

Many of us were surprised and disappointed on election night 2012. But the liberal Obama administration, which is hostile to conservative constitutional pro-family, pro-life values, was re-elected. Truth has not changed. We still live in the greatest country in the world and God continues to bless America and the people living here.

However, over the past four years, we have witnessed the greatest expansion of government in modern political history, which included promotion of Obama Common Coreschool curriculum for schools. President Obama has appointed radical leftist "czars' who exercise control over government activity with no congressional oversight.

There is much concern about voter fraud. Obama did several things to get more votes including attacking states that tried to impose election integrity measures, legalizing illegal aliens and disenfranchising military voters. U.S. Census Bureau shows the number of individuals listed on voter registration roles in three Ohio counties exceeds the number of eligible voters.

What can we do? A recent newsletter from "The Family Leader," an Iowa organization to strengthen families, suggests a couple of options. 1. We can retreat from the civic arena, which has rejected many things we stand for, and let Obama's bigger government proceed. Or 2. We can stand fast and stay engaged. Really, there is no choice. We must stay engaged. While we are aware the symptoms of our condition are evident politically, the condition is spiritual and needs addressed. Our nation was formed on Biblical spiritual truths and we need to get back to the philosophy of our Founding Fathers — faith, family and freedom. If it doesn't happen soon, our great America with her freedoms and her blessings may be gone for good. Under Obama, our government is off the rails and out of control.

The task before us will not be easy and won't happen immediately. Our civilization must be rescued from the brink of self-destruction. We must press on toward the goal to restore our great nation for the future of our children and grandchildren.

Yours truly,

Lawrence Powell
