CENTERVILLE —
The Daily Iowegian will publish an Editorial Question of the Week on the Opinion page.
The Iowegian wants readers to think about the Centerville City Council and a recent request to open their meetings with a prayer.
House of Prayer assistant Pastor Max Ervin approached the mayor who presented it to the City Council about having a prayer to open all meetings.
The council declined the offer.
But should they have accepted?
So, the question this week is, "Do you think the Centerville City Council should open their meetings with a prayer?"
Go to the Daily Iowegian website, www.dailyiowegian.com, and scroll down the home page to POLL on the right hand side and cast your vote. Or call the Iowegian office at (641) 856-6336 or email the editor at iowegianeditor@mchsi.com to cast a vote.
Vote on the Question of the Week up until Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 12 p.m. The results will be published in the Thursday, Aug. 16 paper along with a new question.
Here are the results from the last poll question: "Should the Centerville City Council try to raise the additional money needed to build the Safe Routes to School sidewalk project or return the more than $249,000 DOT grant back to the state?"
A. Try to raise the money and finish the project received 67 votes.
B. Do not try to raise the money and give the grant back to the state received 46 votes.
