CENTERVILLE —
Dear Editor,
It does seem that the only articles appearing on "Opinion Page" and editorials of the Daily Iowegian are going to be extolling the wonderfulness of the B.O.B. group, and what they have created, most of which are self-imposed.
As incredible as it may seem to this group, there are members of this community that have been living their entire life giving, aiding, helping, assisting others all without praise or glory of even recognition. This is nothing new — it has always been here — just because it was not publicized does not mean it did not exist, contrary, when these good things do occur publication is not necessary.
Philanthropy of spirit is all that is needed. Don't do good things so you can break your arm patting yourself on your back.
Whether it be an effort to make Centerville "Pleasantville" so the city can participate in the "Main Street" agenda (which is very dictatorial) or whatever agenda may be on the horizon, it is all for 10.10.10, Grow Centerville, and B.O.B, all managed and controlled by individual who also manages for those who purchase buildings, for supposed improvement, to the city, and then constantly emblazon their greatness for doing so, in bold print, so their God like image can be retained. This is not philanthropy of spirit.
Centerville is actually a great community, in spite of itself, because of those who are actually the backbone of the community and do so for the love of the community and nothing else.
Respectfully submitted
Kathy Cooprider
