Good things are happening

CENTERVILLE — Dear Editor,

The good news is here. So often we open the newspaper and find so much sad news.

I’m here to tell you that right here in our quietly progressive town, there are good things happening every day, and much of it is coming from anonymous people who saw a need and stepped up to take care of it.

For example, BOB’s group of concerned citizens who have taken an active role in this community, were pleasantly surprised when they were told that someone stopped by J&K and paid off our bill for the drive up dinner that we had two weeks ago.

Then there was the Good Samaritan who took it up on him/herself to cut down the unsightly weeds that were smothering the VFW building on the levy. What an improvement that is.

Good things are beginning to happen more and more often.  We can’t begin to thank all of the people who have participated, but it makes a difference every day.  Kudos to you all and may the movement continue.

Here are the names of the five candidates in the search: Patrick Antonen, Joe Gaa, Darrel Steven Carlyle, Chelsea Huisman and Alan Johnson. Who do you like? So, the question of the week is, "Based on what you have read so far about the five city administrator candidates, which one would you pick?"
