Spring is here — and so is the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days! There is still time for Centerville and Appanoose County residents to place their daffodil orders. Daffodil Days extends through the week of March 15.
Daffodil Days goes far beyond the symbol of hope that the spring flowers offer. With every bouquet of daffodils ordered, a cancer patient’s life is affected. With enthusiastic individuals and supporting communities behind them, cancer patients can feel not only hope but courage to keep up the fight against cancer. Supporting communities are also funding the research and aid that might help find the cure someday.
There is still plenty of time to make donations and brighten the days ahead with daffodils. For a $10 donation to the American Cancer Society, you receive a beautiful bunch of daffodils. For a $25 donation, the Gift of Hope bouquet is delivered to local cancer patients who are receiving treatment at medical centers and facilities in the community. This year also features Birthdays R. Hope, a special Boyds™ Bear designed exclusively for the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days Bear and a Bunch™ that can be ordered for a donation of $25. In addition to those great donation possibilities, for $25 the Bear Hugs for Hope option is available, which delivers the Birthdays R. Hope Boyds™ Bear to a child battling cancer.
Orders are still being taken by contacting Jami Livingston at the Drake Public Library at (641) 856-6676. Daffodils will be distributed March 15–19.
