CENTERVILLE —
One agenda item the Centerville City Council will look at Monday night during their regular meeting at City Hall is the negotiated union employment contract for police officers, firefighters, dispatchers and administrative assistants.
The contract is scheduled to start July 1, 2012 and runs through June 30, 2015. Contract employees will receive, if the council approves, a 2 percent wage increase on July 1, 2012, July 1, 2013 and July 1, 2014.
One item on the council's consent agenda involves a request from the management of Alibi's, 301 W. State St., Centerville, for a total refund of their canceled beer license. The council's agenda packet does not list a reason why the license was canceled or why they are requesting a refund.
What the agenda packet does list is a request from Loretta Dickerson for a new class C liquor license for an establishment called "Time Out Lounge," which has the same address as Alibi's, 301 W. State St. Her class C liquor license request is for six months effective Jan. 5.
Other significant council action Monday night ...
• The council will consider appointing Richard Smith to fill Councilman Bill McAfee's vacant seat. Smith was elected by the voters Nov. 8 to take over the seat in Ward 1.
• The council is expected to go into closed session, as per a request made by Kim Crego, city clerk and commissioner of municipal services, to conduct an annual review of her job performance.
• Randy Marcussen, city council at-large seat winner in November, will be given the oath of office by Crego.
