CENTERVILLE — Music, food, drinks and of course, salsa, is all part of the second annual Salsa Contest at 5 p.m. Aug. 6 at Centerville Greenhouses, Fifth and Van Buren in Centerville. A $50 gift certificate prize will be awarded for best hot, mild and sweet/fruity salsa and people's choice award. The contest is open to anyone and there is no entry fee. All salsa must be homemade — either canned or fresh — and contestants must supply a minimum of one pint for judging. Entries must be turned in between 3-5 p.m. Complete rules and entry forms are available at the greenhouse.
