Robin Tarbell-Thomas of Centerville won both First and Second Places Overall. She also claimed the Sweepstakes title in the Dahl's Canned Savory Sauces, Meats and Poultry competition judged Wednesday, Aug. 8, prior to the start of the 2012 Iowa State Fair. She took first in the categories of Tomato Catsup, Tomato Sauce (seasoned) and Strips, Cubes or Chunks of Meat (beef, veal, pork or lamb). "Savory sauces are sauces that are not sweet, but they may include sugar as an ingredient to enhance flavor," according to the Iowa State Fair.
