CENTERVILLE —
US Bank in Centerville Friday morning granted more than $2,500 to three local organizations.
The first, at 9:30 a.m., in the amount of $524, went to Appanoose County United Way.
The second, at 10 a.m., in the amount of $1,500, went to Chariton Valley Regional Housing Trust Fund.
The third, at 10:30 a.m., in the amount of $500, went to the Rathbun Lake Area YMCA.
Appanoose County United Way Chairperson, Larry Bettis, said the money would go into the United Way's general fund to be disbursed to the 24 organizations they support in Appanoose County.
"So it'll spread itself around the community," Bettis said.
Patti Lind, CVRHTF executive director, said the money would be used to cover the cost of home renovations for low to moderate income homeowners.
Randy Groff, YMCA executive director, said the money will "assist the Rathbun Lake Area YMCA with strengthening community through youth development, healthy lifestyles and social responsibility. This year the YMCA will assist more than 125 individuals with those benefits through financial assistance at the YMCA, whom otherwise would not be able to participate."
US Bank Centerville branch manager, Doug Anderson, said the grants will help support individuals and families in Appanoose County.
"US Bank contributes to the strength and vitality of our communities through the Foundation charitable contributions program," Anderson said. "We seek to build strong partnerships and lasting value in our communities by supporting organizations that improve the educational and economic opportunities of low-and-moderate-income individuals and families. I am very proud to be able to present grant checks to the YMCA, Chariton Valley Regional Housing Trust Fund and the Appanoose County United Way. All of these organizations do a wonderful job of supporting individuals and families within our community."
