CENTERVILLE —
An Appanoose County woman accused of six criminal counts had three of those adjudicated in early February to a total of six years in state prison suspended to six years probation.
Crystal Renea Ingersoll, aka Crystal Renea Agan, 28, of Mystic, was accused by Appanoose County Attorney Richard F. Scott by trial information filed July 17, 2012 of attempt to commit murder, a class B felony, two counts of neglect of a dependent person, class C felonies and drunken driving, second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. Scott on July 17, 2012 filed supplemental trial information that included the four counts but modified drunken driving to first offense.
Scott filed a motion to amend the trial information on Feb. 1 to include two counts of child endangerment, no injury, aggravated misdemeanors.
Ingersoll was sentenced Feb. 1 by Judge Kirk A. Daily on OWI, second offense, to credit for seven days time served, two years in prison, 723 days of the state prison suspended, two years probation and a fine.
Judge Daily on the two child endangerment, no injury charges, sentenced Ingersoll to fines, two years in state prison, suspended, two years probation and credit for any time served for both.
The judge ordered the three sentences to run consecutive with each other.
Ingersoll entered a negotiated, voluntary written guilty plea to the three charges she was sentenced for on Feb. 1.
Scott on Feb. 15 filed a motion to have the court dismiss the attempted murder charge and two neglect of a dependent person charges. The motion states "The State agreed to dismiss Counts I, II, and III."
Ingersoll, aka Agan, owes $4,308 for this case.
According to a press release issued by the Appanoose County Sheriff's office dated June 7, 2012, Ingersoll on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at approximately 11:46 p.m. was driving southbound on Highway 5 in the 27000 block toward Cincinnati without a right front tire.
"When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle (Ingersoll) failed to yield to the emergency vehicles," states the press release. "The driver of the vehicle began driving the vehicle in a reckless manner and without any regard for the safety of others."
The release states Ingersoll attempted to strike the officer's vehicles in an attempt to wreck the vehicle and intentionally struck the rear of an emergency vehicle to push the vehicle off the road.
After law enforcement used a PIT maneuver to stop Ingersoll, she lost control and crashed her car in a ditch at the intersection of Highway 5 and 584th Street, the west edge of Cincinnati.
After the crash, Ingersoll and a 5-year and a 6-year-old were found inside the vehicle.
