CENTERVILLE —
New Focus, Inc., a community rehabilitation provider, had its annual meeting Nov. 15. There were 33 guests and staff present, as well as board members. Verlin Akers, board member, opened the meeting in the absence of the board president, Stan Maddy. All present were welcomed, asked to introduce themselves and to tell how they were associated with New Focus, Inc. The agenda, the treasurer’s report and the secretary’s report were approved by the board. The Annual Report, the Outcome Measures Report and the Strategic Plan were handed out for review.
Peggy Oden, executive director, presented anniversary certificates and gifts to Mike Brown and Randy Pfannebecker for 25 years of working and to Gary Reim, Barb Brown and Kay Peckham for 20 years of working at New Focus, Inc. Each recipient responded by describing his/her work experience while working at NFI. Oden also presented the Person of the Year Award to Gary Reim. He was presented this award, on behalf of the staff, because of his good work ethics, his kindness and helpfulness to his co-workers, and for his great sense of humor.
Oden recognized NFI staff present for their many years of service which included: Janet Pangburn, 27 years; Jenny Hoover, 23 years; Susan Wright, 22 years; Helen Helleur, 16 years; Missy Shaffer, 15 years; Raelynn Robinson, 15 years; Tera Easton, eight years; Heather Smothers, seven years; Seth Hoover, six years; and Becca Stewart, one year. Oden thanked them for their many years of service and for their continued support of the consumers who work at NFI.
Other NFI Board members are Dennis Thomas, Corydon, Connie Steinbach, Centerville and Frances Benell, Moravia.
Akers, on behalf of the Board of Directors, thanked Oden and the staff for their many years of service to NFI and for their dedication and support to the consumers who work at NFI. Akers closed the annual meeting by inviting everyone to stay for refreshments.
