CENTERVILLE —
Centerville Concert Association membership drive members for 18 days beginning Aug. 30-Sept. 16 will start their campaign to enlist members for the 2010-2011 concert series.
Season tickets for five 2010-2011 performances are $35 for adults, $10 for students and $75 for a family. As an added bonus, concert series season ticket holders are entitled to attend 13 different performances in either Ottumwa, Fairfield or Washington.
Membership chair JeNel Barth, who is coordinating the membership drive effort, said they expect to surpass 300 membership level from last year.
"We are optimistic that we can surpass the 300 members who enjoyed the last concert season," Barth said. "The professional artists the association has booked for our 2010-2011 series will provide some of the best and most diversified talent ever seen and heard in this area."
Harmony Central Sweet Adeline Chorus's performance will be followed by Parallel Exit Variety Show, guitarist Edger Crux, The Red head Express, an Alaska bluegrass, gospel group and River City 6, a brass ensemble from Pittsburgh. The Centerville Concert Association is a non-profit and all revenues go towards artist fees, administrative and technical concert costs.
"Paying only $7 per concert is probably as reasonable a price as you will find anywhere for top professional entertainment," Barth said. "Our board, with input from membership, strives to put together the best entertainment value possible."
If not contacted by a member, memberships can be purchased at Owl Pharmacy and J&K Market, both on the Centerville Square.
