Ojiaku Ikezuagu, M.D. joins South Central Iowa Medical Clinic

CENTERVILLE — Wayne County Hospital is pleased to announce Dr. Ojiaku Ikezuagu joined the South Central Iowa Medical Clinic staff in August 2012 (for simplicity he is also known as Dr. OJ).

He received his medical training at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies in 2005 and completed his residency and training in family medicine at Montgomery Hospital, Norristown, Penn. in 2012.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of the District of Columbia, Washington D.C. in 1996.  Dr. Ikezuagu is board certified in Family Practice.

Since his arrival at the South Central Iowa Medical Clinic, Dr. Ikezuagu has been working with Dr. Douglas Hoch learning the computer systems and clinic processes. Dr. Ikezuagu is also interested in emergency medicine and is enthusiastic about providing additional ER coverage.

During his training Dr. Ikezuagu completed a general surgery internship at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D. C.

Dr. Ikezuagu is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians.

He enjoys community involvement and served as a member of the Norristown Pennsylvania Local Health Fair Medical Staff and has also been a guest lecturer presenting, “Good Health Practices.”

Dr. Ikezuagu is passionate about giving back to those less fortunate and has made several medical missionary trips to provide medical care in Nigeria, West Africa. As a young man, he spent time in Nigeria with his family, and has maintained a strong connection to the country and its people.

Dr. Ikezuagu is looking forward to completing the purchase of a home in Wayne County and exploring all the area has to offer.

Appointments with Dr. Ikezuagu can be made at the South Central Iowa Medical Clinic by calling (641) 872-2063.
