On Wednesday, Sept. 12 at approximately 11:15 p.m. the Centerville Police Department received a 911 call of a vehicle accident at Lelah Bradley Park.
The caller stated there were no injuries but that the vehicle involved was on fire.
Both the Centerville Fire and Police Department were dispatched to the location and discovered a 2002 Ford Ranger pick-up fully involved in fire with the fire extending to some nearby trees and brush. The fire was extinguished and an investigation initiated by the Centerville Police Department revealed that the vehicle which was owned by Betty Lou Smith of Centerville was being driven by Jonathan D. Duzenberry also of Centerville. Duzenberry lost control of the vehicle causing it to go into the ditch and subsequently catch fire.
The Centerville Police and Fire Department were assisted at the scene by Mercy Medical Center Ambulance.
