Several injuries in crash near Exline

On July 19th at approximately 1:15 a.m. a report of a personal injury crash was reported in the 25000 block of Highway 5. Investigation of the crash revealed that a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup was being driven south bound on Highway 5 by a Chris Rogers, age 17 of Centerville, with six other occupants of the vehicle.

Rogers drove off the highway and onto the gravel shoulder. Rogers over corrected the steering which caused him to lose control of the pickup , resulting in the vehicle over turning and ejecting one of the passengers.

Fire and Medical personnel from Centerville Fire, Mercy Ambulance, Southern Appanoose County First Responders, and Mercy Airlife responded to the scene and transported the injured to hospitals in Centerville and Des Moines.

The injured in the crash ranged from ages 13 to 22 years old. The conditions of the injured are not known at the time of the press release.

The investigation is continuing by the Appanoose County Sheriff with charges pending.
