CENTERVILLE —
The Appanoose County Community Fund is now accepting applications for grants to fund community projects in Appanoose County. Any qualified non-profit organization is eligible to apply.
Applications may be obtained on line at www.appanoosecounty.org by selecting the “Appanoose County Community Fund” tab.
Completed applications must be returned to AEDC, 101 W. Van Buren St., Ste. 1, Centerville, Iowa 52544. The deadline for filing application is 3 p.m. on Friday, March 29. Please note : This date is earlier than past deadlines.
This year the Appanoose County Community Fund will distribute over $93,000 in grant funds. It is anticipated that grants will be awarded in May 2013.
Since the fund was established by the Iowa Legislature in 2006, $533,000 has been distributed to more than 100 non-profits in Appanoose County.
The Community Fund was established to give counties that do not have gambling casinos, a portion of casino profits.

Community Fund board members are: Bob Pontius, Jean Morrison, Irene Brooks, Tod Faris, John Probasco, Paul Witt, Richard Gorden and Larry Bettis.
