CENTERVILLE —
The Appanoose County Board of Supervisors during their Oct. 1 meeting in the Boardroom of the Courthouse accepted the resignation of Medical Examiner Investigator, David M. Barton MD.
In other action:
• The board approved the appointment of Pat Tresemer to the Appanoose County Board of Health.
• The board approved a contract to Gus Construction, Inc. to replace a bridge near Exline that failed two years ago.
Gus Construction submitted the low bid of $198,593.81. There were five companies that bid on the project.
The construction site is south of Exline on T30 then east on 610th Street.
The former wood and steel beam bridge will be replaced with reinforced box culvert.
Appanoose County Engineer Gary Bishop said they have a certain amount of time to finish the project.
"I suspect they'll probably start on it next spring," Bishop said.
• The board approved a resolution for the tax sale of abandoned railroad right-of-way of the former CB&Q Railroad in Cincinnati, Pleasant Township, Appanoose County to Janice L. Mullenix for $25 plus one year's taxes, cost of recording the deed and publication of public hearing notice. Upon receipt of the money the county will issue a tax sale deed.
