The death of a 41-year-old Corydon man first reported in May has been ruled natural causes by the state medical examiner's office, Wayne County Chief Deputy David M. Lewis said Thursday by telephone.
"We never heard anymore and there hasn't been any criminal charges filed out of it," Lewis said.
The death of James M. Bennink was reported May 1 after his body was discovered after friends were unable to contact him on April 30. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed by the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny to determine the cause of death.
Bennink's death was investigated by the Wayne and Decatur County Sheriff's Office, the Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
