Douglas and Sheila Clemens, of Moravia, have successfully negotiated the purchase of Rathbun Marina located on Rathbun Lake. The purchased was finalized Nov. 2 and includes all assets and properties including the marina, Lakeside Inn and Southfork Marina.
Rathbun Marina was founded in 1971 shortly after the opening of the lake. Both Rathbun and Southfork marina are included in a long-term lease from the Army Corp of Engineers.
The Clemens are long-time residents of Moravia and will continue to own and operate Your Boat Works LLC, formally known as C&C; Upholstery in addition to the marina. They will begin their move to the marina in early 2010 and will operate the Buck Creek facility as on-site owners.
"We are excited to offer current and new customers a new level of service and access made possible by on-site owner/operators," Douglas Clemens said.
Southfork Marina and campground will be managed by Byron Parker, manager since 1999.
For more information on Rathbun Marina or to schedule a tour and interview, call Douglas at (641) 895-4694.
