Authorities file additional charges against two Promise City areamen
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is reporting additional charges have been filed following the arrest of two Promise City area men.
Christopher Cody Keyes, 25, who was arrested at 2724 Ohio Road Saturday evening following the execution of a search warrant, where authorities also discovered a meth lab, has also been charged with failure to affix the appropriate stamp, label or official indcia, a class D felony.
The other man involved, Cody Paul Hackney, 21, who was arrested Sundaymorning in Ottumwa by Ottumwa Police, has been charged with possession of both lithium and ethyl ether with intent to use as a precursor to manufacturemethamphetamine, both class D felonies and possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor. He is also facing the charge of failure to affix the appropriate stamp, label or official indcia, a class D felony.
During the search, authorities discovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia and equipment and firearms.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
