CENTERVILLE —
An Appanoose County man accused of attempted murder, three counts of first degree harassment and domestic assault second offense was sentenced Sept. 28.
Theodore Johnathan Reger, 28, of Plano, had the charge of second offense domestic abuse assault, an aggravated misdemeanor, dismissed, the attempted murder charge, a class B felony, was not adjudicated and for the three first degree harassment charges he was given probation.
Judge Kirk A. Daily on Sept. 28 sentenced Reger for the three counts of first degree harassment, aggravated misdemeanors, to two years in state prison, suspended, two years probation with the Department of Corrections, fine and credit of any time served.
According to court documents, Reger during the early morning hours on June 16, 2012 in Plano allegedly grabbed his mother's throat, squeezed, told her he was going to kill her and then made verbal death threats against his sister and uncle.
Reger's mother was quoted in the criminal complaint as saying if her daughter hadn't intervened "he would have killed" me "as he has threatened to do so in the past."
Reger owes the state $2,802.25 for this criminal case.
