CENTERVILLE —
Mercy Auxiliary held its general meeting and luncheon Jan. 27 in the Mercy Hospital cafeteria.
Outgoing President Irene Arbogast welcomed members present and special guest, Clint Christianson, Mercy Medical Center CEO.
A rose donated by Flower-Tique was won by Marge Conger.
Rose Cunningham gave the prayer.
After members enjoyed a salad luncheon, Arbogast presented Christianson a check for $15,000 on behalf of the auxiliary. The check represents funds raised by the auxiliary over the past year.
Christianson thanked the volunteers for their continued support of the hospital. He said this year's donation will be used for a new bed in the obstetrics department and possibly a bed for another department or a sleep chair.

Candy will be sold at the hospital, Appanoose County Courthouse, Hy-Vee, Fareway, Iowa Trust and Savings Bank, US Bank and Owl Pharmacy. Valentine urged members to make a lot of candy. The money raised will be used for scholarships.
