CENTERVILLE —
An Appanoose County man facing five criminal charges, the most severe being attempted murder, had his case adjudicated.
Kenneth Edward Kramer, 39, of Centerville, had the class B attempted murder charge dismissed by the court on Oct. 23, 2012. The court on the same day also dismissed the class D felony charge of willful injury causing bodily injury and two counts of first degree harassment, aggravated misdemeanors.
What wasn't dismissed was one count of willful injury, causing bodily injury, a class D felony. On Oct. 23 Judge Lucy J. Gamon sentenced Kramer to five years in state prison, suspended, to five years probation, fine, 365 days in a residential facility and credit for any time served.
Kramer owes the state $2,289.92 for this case.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Centerville police officer Brandon Knapp, Kramer on July 17, 2012 at approximately 9:45 p.m. went to the residence where his brother Christopher Duffield, mother Debra Nail and step-father William Nail live. Once there, he allegedly assaulted his mother, said he was going to kill his brother and then allegedly attempted to kill his brother.
He allegedly attacked his brother and at one point wrapped an arm around his neck in a choke hold and said, "Good night little brother." The victim said things "Went fuzzy."
Kramer allegedly told his mother if she reported what had happened to the police he was going to "Take her out with him." Kramer allegedly also said Debra and Christopher "Needed to die."
The complaint states Debra, Christopher and William now are in fear of what Kramer might do.
The complaint says Kramer went there because he was upset his brother allegedly had given out a key to his residence and allegedly items had come up missing.
