CENTERVILLE — Alliant Energy work crews in the 200 block of East Jackson at approximately 2:48 p.m. Wednesday shut off electricity to replace an insulator nearly 40 years old that had cracked and was leaning. The broken insulator was about to allow the power line to touch the metal support structure, according to one worker at the scene. Power was restored less than 20 minutes later.
