CENTERVILLE —
The Indian Hills Community College special school election held Dec. 4 was approved by voters in the 10 southeast Iowa counties involved by more than a three to one margin, according to results verified by the Wapello County auditor.
The Dec. 4 special school election asked for the adoption of one question: "Shall the Indian Hills Community College (Merged Area XV) Board of Trustees be authorized to certify, as per Iowa Code Section 260C.28 (2), for tax years beginning July 1, 2013, continuation of a tax not exceeding six (6) cents per thousand dollars of assessed value in any one year and for a period not to exceed ten (10) years, for the purpose of program sharing between community colleges or for the purchase of instructional equipment?"
An earlier Iowegian story reported six counties had submitted official results. Now all 11 counties have submitted official results.
